The joy of polyamory
Or, more precisely
one of the many joys
Is that the the timelines
Are all tangled
Just Like Memento
Five Mementos screening at once.
In one, we’ve retired
To a tender cottage upstate
While in another
It’s deep character development
And in another
A trapdoor opens below me and I fall.
If I can just bring them
All into resonance
Than is there nothing
I can’t do?
Though resonance
Is why bridges fail
And dissonance
Is what cushions blows:
The waves dampening.
I need both dissonance and resonance.
May my armor be dissonant
And my weapons be resonant
That is my prayer
For balance.
