I heard it first in the book “Womb Awakening”:
That the Cerebrum could be made the partner of the cerebellum.
That the hero’s quest could be to make the unconscious conscious.
That the narrative arc of my life could be the story of distancing myself from the ego and creating conditions to access the deeper awareness, the soul field, the anima mundi.
My masculine self loves a quest. Finally, this seems like a quest I want to fight for: I’d worked in technology long enough to know about accumulation. And I’ve done just enough spiritual work to realize that in some cosmologies the forces of accumulation are considered demonic forces. Let’s sign up for a quest that does not involve accumulation of power or cash, but instead has a goal of inner harmony.
In 2024, my inner masculine made marriage vows to my inner feminine. May I now go deeper. May my inner masculine put itself in service to my “womb consciousnesses” by trying to plumb its depths. I’m not the first fortunately with that intent:
“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift. The rational mind is a faithful servant.” – Albert Einstein.
“We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift” – Albert Einstein.
What does my ego desire on this quest? Well, what it desires on all quests: A map, to know where it is. Story-telling, to know where it has been. Approval from other heroes: which is why I’m writing right now.
What is the nature of this quest? Infinite horizons. Story-shedding. Recognizing there are enough voices inside that they alone could fuel my desire for approval.
Ah, so it’s a paradox. Perfect, I love paradoxes.
Throughout this quest, my inner map-maker will try to communicate where I am, and my story-teller will try to share my arc, but this inner quest, if successful, will take me to a realm where it will no longer serve me to shoebox my experience into symbols.
